This is a one day online workshop webinar presented by Martin Bridgeman and forms part of a fuller course on music and business management.

At the end of this workshop seminar, the student should be better equipped to engage with various media for musical works project. The student will get the opportunity to see some examples of what works well and what definitely does not work well in the sector. Students will also get advice and suggestions based on real industry experience and suggestions from a number of industry professionals. Students will see and understand the value of research and discuss options that exist and their application to their own circumstance. It should be the objective of each student on this workshop seminar to be able to showcase their own style of music to its best advantage and to be in a position to make it available to their target audience.

You’ve worked hard to produce the music so you need to give it every chance to be heard as widely as possible in the right places and at the right times. Even if you decide to contract with a professional PR company, you will still need an appreciation of their work when you come to select your representation and to be able to assess whether they are doing their best job for you and your music.

Given the effect of the pandemic on the music industry, one clear consequence is the great increase in the amount of new music being prepared, produced and finished. The time lost to touring has also allowed musicians to finish more music and this has resulted in an avalanche of new music to all media. Now, more than ever before, you need to be more focused in order to reach the right people for your music.
