Student who complete this programme will be able to:

  • Appreciate creativity and innovation; what they are and why we need them
  • Identify and understand the characteristics of creative individuals, groups and organisations and personal styles of creativity
  • Recognise the structure and stages of the creative problem solving process
  • Explore and analyse problems and their causes
  • Write and refine problem/goal statements
  • Apply techniques for creativity and ideas, using visual, word-based and spatial techniques including brainstorming, random stimuli and assumption-busting generation
  • Evaluate ideas and make decisions
  • Plan for the successful implementation of solutions in the workplace
  • Overcome barriers to creativity in the workplace
  • Manage group creative problem solving sessions – use facilitation skills
